Hmm....

Not really feeling this remix. It strayed too far from it's original to say that it's a remix...the original has more minor chords in it, and didn't have that key structure....oh and Toccata and Fugue in D minor was by Bach, not Beethoven. Bach was well known for his fugues, whereas Beethoven worked more with the piano and orchestra.

....Meh, not bad :)

As a music major, I have to say I like the originality that you did. I like how you sliced and diced a lot of it, and mixed it together...I like the beat and the guitar...my only complaint is that some of the arranging that you did of the parts just didn't seem to flow. I did, however, really enjoy your variation of the theme. How you took it and made something that Bach didn't do, yet you didn't stray so far from the original work that it lost its soul. Props.

Finally!

Finally, an original fugue that doesn't suck! And a fugue that actually makes musical thought progress instead of taking you on a journey and abruptly stopping. Well done, I hope that you upload more of your operetta!

Oh and in response to the 2012 thing: "However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows." Matthew 24:36 :D

adompeace responds:

Hehe... :D thanks! I'm sorry to say that the operetta is on an indefinite hiatus and I'm not sure when it'll be finished anymore.

And I do think the whole 2012 thing is bullshit now. That Bible quote explains very well why.

If you like fugues, check out my other fugue, "That Fuging Icehole" (if you'll forgive the silly wordplay). If you reviewed that, that'd be awesome! It's not as advanced as this one is but it's also original and you'll probably get a kick out of it as well :)

Terrible.

There's a certain line that you just don't cross when remixing classical/baroque music and you've just crossed it. Modernizing a piece is one thing, but completely obliterating the musical thought and making the song nothing but dissonance is NOT how you thank Bach for creating this. Sorry to be harsh; I think if you would give it another try, and this time stay a little more true to the idea, you could really develop something nice.

Hm...Irish? Where is the Irish?

I like the concept...it just didn't fly with the steel drums. Wrong choice for an Irish jig. Sorry...

More please.

I get into Celtic music--to a degree. It has to be unique and catchy and you, my friend, have indeed accomplished both of those requirements. I have about 90 percent Irish in my heritage, so I greatly appreciate the music like this that does justice to it. I wouldn't be disappointed if you made more.....*cHoIuNgTh cHoIuNgTh*....

YAR! SWEET!

I loved it...the only downer is that for a while it seems like a lot of the kicks and even the bass has some issue with the high end of the spectrum...like something somewhere is almost too high. But--not trying to be a critic. Brilliant work of art other than that!

I'm feelin' it.

This is definitely something I can groove to...fun beat, fun melodies, addictive bass line...throw in some sweet electronic SFX, and you have an awesome song.

Oh wait

this song IS that song :D

GameBalance responds:

Thanks :)

Musically Sound, Pleasantly Relaxing

Music is my forte...no pun intended...but it is my major and I have to say--the fact that you could layer yourself so well is breathtaking...not to mention your voice is absolutely beautiful. Props on everything about it...I love the suspension that you do at the end...that just adds to it. That is also the one thing that I could have stood to hear longer ;)

VGSongbird responds:

lulz at your unintended pun.
It's always super significant to get a great review from someone who is making a life out of music.
And I appreciate your support.
Thank you so much! :D

I am a music education major in Springfield, MO attending Evangel University. I enjoy just about any type of music out there...so long as it doesn't involve old-school country, a bad message, or if it isn't musically sound...
